Travian Games Answers
The Answers family is a self service tool to enable the players to easily and quickly look up information about a game.
I am a 23 year old male from Lingen, Germany. Until the end of April 2010 I was am doing
my “compulsory paid community service” at
the local nursery school (it’s quite okay actually assuming one can ignore the low payment).
I was also an employee of Travian Games GmbH until
the end of September 2010.
I administrated Travian.com for over 2 years for them.
Additionally I was also greatly involved in and responsible for training new Administrators for
various Travian language versions. During that time I developed (in collaboration with others)
extensive documentations, guidelines and manuals.
In the end I was responsible for the
CustomerSelfService (i.e. the Answers Family: Wewaii Answers,
Remanum Answers,
Travians Answers).
There also are the orphaned/phased out Travian FAQ
(a side project while I was administrator for Travian.com)
and still active IRC Portal.
Sadly I never came round to update them properly before terminating my contract.
Additionally I am helping out the guys at
Conceited Software as Community Liaison.
Blog Posts, talking to the people on IRC and
prodding the devs with large and pointy sticks if there is something I believe they should take
care of or take a look at.
At the moment I am a media informatics student at the
Universität Ulm.
Scale Model Database

An online scale model database created with the Yii framework and a MySQL Database. The search is utilizing a Lucene powered index.
The SMDb is an extensive database of (scale model) manufacturers and their models and can be used to create personal lists as well.
A university paper on the push-relabel algorithm

A paper explaining push-relabel algorithm — developed by Andrew V. Goldberg and Robert E. Tarjan — I wrote together with Jan Musmann.
We wrote the paper in the university course called “Proseminar Algorithmen”, the full paper can be found on that page (along with papers written by other students) or here.
Bang Bang

This is a university project created together with Christopher Getschmann and Jan Musmann for a course called “Grundlagen der Gestaltung”.
Bang Bang is an application written in Processing as an interactive visualization for the song “Bang Bang (Baby Shot me Down)” covered by Betty Chung.
Travian Games Answers Family

I created this system in 2010 using PHP with a MySQL database for storage. Layout/HTML was done by a colleague at Travian Games. JavaScript is done using jQuery.
Obviously the system is fully translatable - it uses TMX based storage for internal strings and content is provided by the database depending on the requested url.
This system effectively replaced the Travian FAQ which had been running unchanged for ages basically since Travian v2 and needed an overhaul/rewrite badly.
Instances are: Remanum Answers, Travian Answers, Goal United Answers, Miramagia Answers
